Lets try this again

Since having Natalie I have been terrible at keeping up with my blog. In fact, I have had a hard time keeping up with a lot of stuff it feels like, but I think I am finally getting the hang of this "two kids" deal.

Natalie is now 8 months old and has been crawling since 7. She is already pulling herself up to stand and sort of walking along the couch and coffee table. she is getting to be a little bit of a better sleeper. Which means waking up only twice or so at night.

Morgan seems to really like being a big sister. The only problem I have with her is wanting to pick Nat up and hold her. She is a little too rough, but Natalie loves her so much that she puts up with a lot before she starts to fuss.

I love my girls. I am tired most of the time because they keep me busy, but I am so thankful that I get to stay home with them, teach them and watch them grow every day.

December picture catch up

Well since we have had Natalie the time has really flown by. Babies just grow WAY to fast. Here are some pictures we took in December.

I think (for me) there is a little truth when people say the second kid doesn't have as many pictures taken as the first, but camera phones have helped A LOT. I try to capture a little of everything. Natalie is a sweet girl, but she definitely will let you know when she isn't happy. I guess we can say she is opinionated :). She LOVES the swing and has started laughing. Which is pretty much the best sound ever.

Christmas Caroling

Caroling seems to be a tradition that this generation just doesn't seem to do anymore. I think we might be worried that it won't be well received OR we are just a little on the lazy side :). So when our good friends invited us over for hot chocolate and caroling I thought it sounded pretty fun.

We only went to about 5 of their neighbors houses, but everyone seemed happy to see us. They grabbed their coats and came outside and they all had a smile on their faces. I think it is sad that we don't get to know our neighbors anymore. I hope once we buy a home and start to really feel settled that we will take the time to get to know those around us.

Window Kite

I found another cute idea on (Surprise!) Pinterest. It is a kite made out of tissue paper and contact paper. Morgan needed some one on one time and I thought a fun craft might just be a great activity for us to do together. She was able to pick the colors she wanted and stick it straight to the paper. I think it turned out pretty cute.

Snow!

We had snow one day last week for about 3 hours. Then it melted and it hasn't returned yet, BUT we were so excited we bundled up and ran outside to enjoy it.

Kevin, Morgan , and Ruca had a snowball fight while I took pictures and Natalie was napping. After we were nice and cold we came inside and warmed up with so hot chocolate. It was a pretty fun day.

Morgan's 4th Birthday

I  knew that I wanted to throw a party this year for Morgan's birthday because of how much attention would be going towards the baby. She told me that she wanted a "Little Einsteins" theme and so I started looking up different ideas. I knew I wanted to make it as easy on myself as possible so I invited a few little girls from church to our house so it would be pretty contained.As far as decorations went, I cut music notes from black poster board and printed of pictures of the characters from the computer. I was pretty happy because when she saw everything she looked so excited.

I set up little "missions" in three different rooms. One room they had to find Leo's baton and big jet who stole it. Another room they had to find Big Ben's clock and the monkey who took that. In the last room I had a picture of Mona Lisa and I told the girls that she needed a hair bow so they searched for the cut out of the hair bow and stuck it on the picture. They seemed to really enjoy that. We tried to play musical squares, but two of the girls were feeling shy and not participating and they youngest seemed to think that she needed to always land on her original square so when the music stopped she tried to push whoever was on it off. The other moms and I just laughed. It was pretty funny.

We kept it simple. Kevin went and picked up some pizza and we ate cupcakes and ice cream. Morgan picked out Lemon frosting which turned out to be a big hit.

I think she really enjoyed her special party. It was nice to put some focus back on her. I can't believe she is four years old. Time has really flown by so fast!
