Time to let go

Have you ever kept something past its expiration date? I'm not talking about milk or anything like that. I'm talking about a possession that for some reason you keep even though it is broken or out of style or lost all of its value. In my case it is this t-shirt.

I am by no means a hoarder. I go through my closet at least twice a year and get rid of those items I haven't worn in the last couple of months, but for some reason I always held onto this ratty old t-shirt.

Just look at that big gaping hole! One that I never even attempted to mend I might add :). Much to Kevin's chagrin, there would be many nights I would lounge around the house wearing this lovely garment.

Why on earth would she want to keep this? You might be asking. Well I will tell you.
1)It is a Beatles shirt and well...I love the Beatles.
2)It was my older brothers shirt. I thought it was so cool that he would pass it down to his little sister because  I thought he was cool.
3)It was already nice and worn in.

Now that it looks like we will be moving (I'll explain the details of that on another post) I felt very motivated to only bring those items that I really needed. So, Unfortunately, it is now time to say good-bye to my dear t-shirt.  I am finally feeling ready to let you go. I will miss you old friend.

Framed

For a while now I have been wanting to display some maternity photos that my lovely friend, Megan took for me as well as some new born shots of Morgan that Evaly took for us. I wanted to put them together in a collage style frame, but I just couldn't find the right one. I don't know if you have this problem, but when you have specific pictures in mind you always find frames with way to many vertical or horizontal slots than you want. SO...I decided I would make my own frame. I went to Ikea and bought some cheap picture frames and glued them together (well I will be honest Kevin did most of the gluing. I picked out the frames, pictures and laid them out how I wanted.)  If you like this idea and want to try it yourself, everyone I have talked to said that Gorilla glue was really the only way to go. Every other wood glue would be too rubbery and expand too much. A word of caution though...ya know that old kindergarten saying "a dot is a lot"? well it definitely applies here. Anyway, here is a picture of the finished result.

It's not perfect, but I like it.

Parker's 3rd

A couple of weekends ago we celebrated our nephew, Parker's third birthday. It was a beautiful day outside just perfect for a cook out. The kids had fun playing in the bounce house and swimming in the pool. I realized that I don't have many pictures of Morgan with her extended family so I made sure to AT LEAST grab a couple with her aunt Kirsten and uncle Clint.
