Time to let go

Have you ever kept something past its expiration date? I'm not talking about milk or anything like that. I'm talking about a possession that for some reason you keep even though it is broken or out of style or lost all of its value. In my case it is this t-shirt.

I am by no means a hoarder. I go through my closet at least twice a year and get rid of those items I haven't worn in the last couple of months, but for some reason I always held onto this ratty old t-shirt.

Just look at that big gaping hole! One that I never even attempted to mend I might add :). Much to Kevin's chagrin, there would be many nights I would lounge around the house wearing this lovely garment.

Why on earth would she want to keep this? You might be asking. Well I will tell you.
1)It is a Beatles shirt and well...I love the Beatles.
2)It was my older brothers shirt. I thought it was so cool that he would pass it down to his little sister because  I thought he was cool.
3)It was already nice and worn in.

Now that it looks like we will be moving (I'll explain the details of that on another post) I felt very motivated to only bring those items that I really needed. So, Unfortunately, it is now time to say good-bye to my dear t-shirt.  I am finally feeling ready to let you go. I will miss you old friend.

I know what you mean. All of the jobs Justin is applying for would require us not only to move but to move many times throughout his career, so I've been going through all my stuff over and over again even though I just got rid of a ton of stuff. So, bravo at moving forward :) But I know you will miss your shirt.

I too have an item of clothes like that. It's the pair of yoga pants I'm wearing now. I even wore them through my pregnancies...and no they are not maternity! So yes there is a whole in unlady-like places but I haven't had the heart yet. But I have stopped wearing them in public! LOL
