June Activites

This past month we made lemon cookies.

Celebrated Kevin's birthday by taking a quick peek at Cooter's and then eating at the Loveless cafe.

We built a fort out of couch cushions instead of cheating a using a store bought one :).

And beat the heat by playing at indoor play areas.

Now June is almost over and July should be pretty busy for our family. I will try to keep ya posted with what we are up to.

Fontanel

While my sister's family was here we saw one more "attraction". The Fontanel mansion was home to Barbara Mandrell and I have to admit I didn't really know who she was. I had heard her name before, but if asked I couldn't pick her out of a line up. What is so unique about this house is that it is the largest log home ever built. Barbara Mandrell and her family no longer live there, but the house is decorated with a lot memorabilia from her career as well as family photos. It was pretty neat to see.

Opryland Hotel

While the Brothers family was here we toured the Opryland Hotel. It is HUGE! I have said it before, but I will say it again. It is kind of fun being a tourist in your own town.

Silly Sisters!

Ok that's a normal one.

After we were done walking around the hotel we walked across the street to have some lunch. Poor Morgan was pooped. She fell asleep right there on the table.

Burgess Falls

Sorry I  haven't updated in a while. I haven't felt good for the last few days and before that I was busy hanging out with family.

A couple of weeks ago my sister, Melissa, and her family came down for a visit (and to bring us their old bedroom furniture!), but before they came here they made a stop in Cookeville to visit with my sister, brother, and their families. They asked us to drive over so we could hang out all together for a while and go to Burgess falls.

We are always up for an adventure so we loaded up the jeep and headed to Cookeville.

Sisters! (Minus Tamara )

It's tough to get a good group shot these days. I had to borrow some of these pictures from my sister. Thanks Missy :)

Bicentennial park

We are having fun exploring ,and getting to know our way around Nashville.  This Saturday we went to the Bicentennial park.

It was a beautiful day outside!

We didn't know it, but there was a 5k going on there. It was hosted by  Madd. They had a bounce house set up for the kids to play in. Morgan is still a little cautious, but she loved playing in the "castle" as she called it.
