The march of the yellow converse
Our friends Megan and Justin got married in the Orlando LDS Temple on April 18th. Kevin and I were almost not able to attend because we left our temple recommends in California, but after a few phone calls back home they got in touch with someone that could vouch for us and we were able to watch the ceremony. Whew! Megan told all of us bridesmaids just to find a black dress that we liked and she would provide the footwear. Her colors were green and yellow so what did she get us? YELLOW CONVERSE! She even wore some underneath her wedding gown. I didn't bring any other shoes with me (ya know, trying to carry everything on the plane) so those were the shoes I had to wear inside the temple. It was so funny how many compliments I got. It wasn't until they saw me with the other bridesmaids that people realized that it wasn't just my personal style, but the brides. When I told my mother about the yellow converse.....she didn't quite get it. I think it is a generational thing. Anyways, I thought I would share some of the pictures we took outside the temple.later that evening they had a special ring ceremony for those who could not attend the temple ceremony. The reception was immediately following and for dinner they had a burrito bar. It was a lot of fun and Kevin and I sure enjoyed making fools of ourselves on the dance floor. I have another wedding to go to in a week, but this time I have to go solo (Kevin has work obligations). It will still be fun to catch up with old friends. :)

Chuckwagon/Naughty Panty Party
Now what brought me to Florida in the first place was to be a bridesmaid in my friend Megan's wedding. Kevin and I drove to her part of town the day before the wedding and actually helped set up for the reception. While we were taking a break from hanging lights and stuffing the favors we went to eat at a little restaurant called "Moon Lite" (Kevin and I are scratching our heads....we think that is the right name). Anyways, this is a little drive in with all kinds of milk shakes and burgers, but the thing that stood out on the menu was something called the "Chuckwagon". A "Chuckwagon" is a country fried burger. That doesn't sound fattening at al does it? Kevin and I couldn't bring ourselves to try one, but the groom-to-be, Justin ordered one so we could see what it looked like.Later that night Kevin went with Justin and I went with Megan to what was called her Naughty Panty Party. Megan is the oldest child and the first to be married so her little sisters went all out with the "naughtiness". For example, they made her wear this tiara.
After all the Sexy presents were open we got to my favorite part of the night. ROCKBAND! I have always wanted to play, but I just never had the right opportunity. Well...since I had mentioned this to Megan earlier she said sure let's play it. I had also suggested (because I am a dork) that we buy t-shirts and make up band names and write our names on the shirt. Everyone was down with that so that is exactly what we did. Because I was so excited about this prospect (did I mention that I am a dork?) I had already come up with a name. When I suggested it to the group they all like it and we became.....PAPER COVERS ROCK!It was so much fun and I am now trying to convince Kevin that we need to get a gaming system so I can play. We don't have anything now because we are scared that one or the both of us will become addicted to playing video games all the time. Oh well....we will just have to see what happens :)

A few family pics
After my morning of taking pictures with Ted and Melissa we came back to my parents house and had dinner. My Aunt and Uncle joined us as well as our family friends, Pat and Joyce Thornton. It was so nice to see everyone. Since we don't get everyone together often we took some photos.Bottom row: Ted, Kevin, Dad, and Uncle Brian

I'm ready for my close up
Last week Kevin and I flew across the country to Tampa, Florida...a place we used to call home. The sad thing was I had not been back since we moved to California a little over two years ago :( The reason for our visit was to go to our friend Megan's wedding (pictures to come), but since I am never in Florida I had to make time to be with my family. What was great was my sister Melissa and her husband Ted were in town at the same time so I got to spend some time with them as well. I asked Melissa if she and Ted wanted to have some fun outside and have a photo shoot. They thought what the heck, sure. So that is just what we did. Here are some pictures from that shoot:
Here I am teaching Melissa how to play gladiator on the monkey bars just like I used to play in elementary school.
Thanks guys for humoring me....I had a fun time and from the looks of this last picture....I would say you did too :)
